Medical Repatriation & Air Evacuation (EVASAN) in Algeria

Medical repatriation & air evacuation (EVASAN) in Algeria

Magh Assistance organizes medical repatriation and air evacuation (EVASAN) in Algeria: medical aircraft, helicopters, and transfers between Africa and Europe, such as Algiers–Paris or Algiers–Geneva.

Magh Assistance organizes medical repatriation and air evacuation (EVASAN) in Algeria: the transport of patients by plane or helicopter, both within the country and between Africa and Europe. The cost of an air evacuation depends on the distance and the medical equipment on board; a detailed estimate is provided before any operation. To request a quote, call +213 550 45 33 99 (phone and WhatsApp).

The only provider of long-distance medical transport

Since 2011, Magh Assistance has been operating out of its base in Bab Ezzouar and is the only provider capable of independently organizing inter-provincial transfers and evacuations between Africa and Europe. This unique position is based on a dedicated fleet—four medical aircraft and one helicopter—and a team of more than 120 doctors trained in Swiss protocols (Swissmedic). When a patient must be transported over a long distance under strict medical conditions, it is this integration of air resources and medical expertise that makes all the difference.

The medical aircraft: a flying intensive care unit

A medical evacuation aircraft is not merely a means of transportation: it is a fully equipped in-flight medical unit. Our aircraft are equipped to monitor and support vital functions throughout the entire journey—including monitoring, oxygen, resuscitation equipment, and medications. A doctor and medical staff accompany the patient from start to finish. This capability allows us to transport critically ill patients whom no commercial flight could accommodate.

Air ambulances and helicopters: the solution for emergency situations

For hard-to-reach areas or emergencies where every hour counts, our helicopter ensures rapid evacuation to a suitable facility. The air ambulance complements our fleet of several hundred ground ambulances: care is continuous, from the scene of the incident to the destination hospital, with no gap between ground and air transport. This comprehensive chain of care is coordinated by our medical teams, who determine the most appropriate mode of transport based on the patient’s condition.

Africa-Europe Flights: Algiers-Paris, Algiers-Geneva

Magh Assistance regularly organizes medical evacuations between Algeria and Europe, on routes such as Algiers-Paris or Algiers-Geneva, as well as transfers from other African countries. These operations require rigorous logistical and medical coordination: authorizations, an accompanying medical team, and liaison with the destination hospital. For the Algerian diaspora living in France, Switzerland, Canada, or Belgium, this provides the assurance that a loved one can be cared for and transferred under the best possible conditions, without having to improvise complex logistics from a distance.

A fully coordinated operation

Each repatriation is treated as a standalone operation: preliminary medical assessment, selection of the aircraft, team assembly, administrative coordination, and continuity of care upon arrival. Magh Assistance’s centralized patient record ensures that all medical information is fully transmitted to the receiving team. Upon arrival, our ground services can take over, including the’private ambulance in Algiers or a Home hospitalization in Algiers for recovery.

Frequently asked questions

What methods do you use for evacuation?

Depending on the patient’s condition and the distance involved, we deploy one of our four medical aircraft, our helicopter, or our ground ambulances. The decision is made by our medical team to ensure the safety of the transport.

Do you arrange transfers to Europe?

Yes. We are the only organization that independently arranges evacuations from Africa to Europe, on routes such as Algiers–Paris or Algiers–Geneva, with a medical team on board and full coordination all the way to the receiving hospital.

Is a doctor accompanying the patient?

Whenever the situation requires it. Our medical evacuations include a doctor and the necessary medical staff, along with the monitoring and resuscitation equipment appropriate for the situation.

What's the difference with Magh Assist?

We are a training center for emergency physicians, and our staff are trained to deal with the most complex situations.

What if I already have a doctor?

Our protocols track the patient's history and document in an electronic file all the care we have provided, as well as the future course of treatment.

Do you work with a hospital?

As a recognized structure, especially at Covid, we work with all public and private hospital structures.
